Winchester First Model 1873 Rifle In 44 W.C.F. With A Fine Bore
Description:
SOLD SOLD SOLD This First Model 1873 was produced in 1878. The rifle's serial number is 25294. The octagonal 24 inch barrel is chambered for the 44 W.C.F. cartridge. The bore is in very fine condition with sharp lands and bright bore. This rifle's finish is mostly patina condition. The action is crisp and functions correctly. The thumb print dust cover is intact and works nicely. The sights are original to this Winchester. The stock and forend is in nice condition with no cracks. This Winchester was used but taken care of to keep the bore's accuracy and action working properly. The bottom lower tang has a silver name plate installed. The initials appear to be T R. This silver name plate was nicely done and appears to be original to this Winchesters time line. These First Model 1873's rarely have good bores and good action. These early Winchesters saw hard ranch and field use and wear. This Winchester is a honest used rifle that was taken care of! This is the kind of Historical Winchesters Collectors dream of finding for their collections.
