Winchester Model 1873 Rifle In 38 W.C.F. With Shotgun Butt
Description:
This Third Model Winchester was produced in 1882. The rifle's serial number is 95434. This Winchester is chambered to shoot the 38 W.C.F. cartridge. The rifle's 24 inch octagonal barrel bore is in good condition with strong lands. The top barrel flat and bronze carrier has the caliber marking of 38 CAL. The front and rear sight is original to this rifle. This rifle's original finish is in mostly patina condition. The action works very nice with no issues. This Winchester has the special order shotgun butt. The butt plate is steel. The stock and forend retain most of the original wood finish. There is no cracks or wood damage to this wood. This is a well used but not abused rifle. This is the kind of rifle that you would expert to see from Frontier and Ranch use. These type of Winchesters are now becoming quite collectable these days due to their historical context to our Frontier past. Here is a prime example of these historical Winchesters.
