Winchester Model 1885 Winder Musket In 22 Short
Description:
This Winchester was produced in the last year of production, in 1920. The musket's serial number is 136941. it is chambered for the 22 Short cartridge. This musket was one of the last low wall single shots to be produced at the end of production of this model. The barrel is 28 inches. It has the correct musket front sight. The rear sight is the Lyman reciever mounted sight. The musket stock and hand guard retain all of the original factory finish. There are no cracks or damage to the wood. The bore is bright and sharp. The barrel retains 96% of the original blue. The reciever retains 50% faded blue. The action locks up tight, with no play. This is a much better than average Winder musket to be found today. These muskets were used to train soldiers and cadets at military schools. Many of them were U.S. property marked for World War One use. This Winchester is not U.S. property marked. This Winchester is certainly a collector grade firearm for the military collector as well as the single shot collector of Winchesters! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
