This Winchester was produced in 1947. The rifle's serial number is 74815. This rifle is chambered for the 300 Savage cartridge. This rifle is one of 362 guns ever chambered for this round! This makes this rifle chambered for one of the rarest calibers ever listed by Winchester! The bore is in very fine sharp condition. This rifle has been used in the field. This rifle has been well cared for and respected. The action works smoothly and locks up snug. The front sight is intact with the sight hood. The scope base is a fine Stith Detachable Mount. This Stith mount is beautifully made! The scope is a Lyman Alaskan 2 1/2 power scope with cross hairs. This scope is clear with no problems. This scope also has the special made leather lens cover intact. The original bluing would rate a 98% or better condition. The trigger guard and floor plate retain all of the bluing. The stock has no cracks or wood damage. There is several light scratches and scuff marks on this stock. The checkering is sharp with good points. There is no worn or damaged checkering. The steel butt plate retains most of the original bluing. The sling swivels are intact. The bolt is properly serial numbered to the receiver. This rifle has the earlier clover leaf top tang. This Winchester has honest wear and use! Being a 300 Savage cartridge puts this rifle in the super rare group of Winchester Model 70's! This rifle will most likely wind up in a very advanced Model 70 collection! It certainly will be a show piece!
