Winchester Model 70 Pre 64 Super Grade In 220 Swift

This Winchester was produced in 1953. The rifle's serial number is 270849. This Super Grade has the 26 inch barrel chambered for the 220 Swift cartridge. There were 19,934 of these 220 Swift produced in the pre 64 time frame. The bore is in bright clean condition with a fine bore. The sights are original to this Winchester. The front sight hood is not present. This rifle shows very little use or any kind of wear. The bolt surface shows little wear or use. This bolt is serial numbered to the receiver. This Winchester has the satin blued finish to the barrel. The original finish would rate a 98% or better condition. The trigger housing and floor plate retain all of the original bluing. The butt plate is also in new condition. This super grade stock is the last variation of these stocks. The pistol grip is capped by a steel blued cap rather than the more common hard rubber Winchester Logo Cap. This stock also has the high Monti Carlo style stock. The wood is in very fine condition showing very little sign of use. The checkering is in very fine condition. This a really nice condition Winchester Super Grade in the hard to find 220 Swift chambering. This rifle will certainly appeal to the Winchester Collector.
