This Winchester Carbine was produced in 1894. The carbine's serial number is 470981. It has the standard 20 inch barrel. The sights are original to this carbine. The bore is very sharp with some scattered very light pitting. The action is tight with very good original springs. The original dust cover is intact and locks up snug. The barrel and magazine tube retain about 95% of it's original fading bluing. The reciever has about 35% of it's original bluing. the rest is in silvery finish. The wood has no damage or cracks. The stock and forend retain most of the original finish. The stock trap door has the cleaning rod in the compartment. The screws are in fine condition with no marring. This is a well cared for carbine that has seen western use. Carbines are very difficult to find in this condition or better. Most of them have seen hard service and rough use.
