Winchester Model 1903 22 Winchester Self Loading
Rifle First Year Production
Description:
This Winchester was produced in 1903. The rifle's serial number is 2195. The earliest model 1903's were not fitted with the cross bolt safetys. These safetys were added on latter in production. This rifle is one of the ones without the safety. It has the 20 inch barrel. The sights are the standard sights for this model. The bore is very fine with no issues. The stock and forend have no cracks or damage. The original wood finish would rate a 97% overall condition. The barrel blue would rate a 97% oveall condition. The reciever high polish finish would rate a 93% overall condition. The right side top area reciever face has speckling and spotting of the bluing due to poor storage. The bolt and trigger show strong nitre blue finish. The take down feature is tight with no play. There is no marring due to sloppy assembly. The two sections of the reciever have matching assembly numbers as well as serial numbers. The interior parts show very little use or wear. This rifle shoots great! I shot a box of shells through it, had a real fun time shooting this Winchester! The curved buttplate retains almost all of the original bluing. The magazine tube has the early stop so that you do not pull the magazine tube all the way out during loading. This is a collectors grade Winchester with all the early features that are not seen on latter models. This rifle is in fine original condition that has survived the years well. The original boxes displayed with this Winchester are not for sale. They are for show with the rifle only. Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
