Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 257 Roberts Late transition Great gun!
Description: Highly desireable and very scarce caliber/configuration! Here's a Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 transition era 257 Roberts standard rifle. S/N 100*** is a later transition with clover shaped tang and type 3 safety and one of the very last few rifles made in late 1948. It is in very good-excellent condition throughout with minty bore and perfect mechanics. I am rating about 95-96% Blue and Varnish due to a few minor scrapes in the wood and the same on left side of barrel which I have zoomed in on. There is a factory installed Lyman 48WJS receiver sight at the rear with correct Lyman 12S filler in the barrel dovetail. (This rifle has never had a 22g rear sight installed). This is an awesome and hard to find rifle in one of the greatest medium game calibers ever conceived. (little to no recoil but incredible performance). SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
