Nitro proofed for 2 1/2" cartridges and reproofed in 86. The 14 1/4in stock has probably been refinished and features a Prince of Wales semi-pistol grip, vacant white oval and a horn butt plate.
**James Hooton (b.1843 in Sevenoaks, Kent) is recorded as being a schoolmaster in Liverpool . In 1885 he bought a share of the Jones family gun making business.
