The barrels are beautifully browned, nitro reproved Damascus, and measure 30 1/2" with 2 1/2" chambers and perfect bores, choked .031/.028. The rib is engraved: 'T. BLAND & SONS. 106. STRAND. LONDON. THE KEEPER'S GUN NEW MODEL' Rebounding hammers. The action has carved percussion fences, with traces of case colors still visible. Locks up tight as new with a doll's head extension. The lever is still right of center. The walnut stock has crisp checkering, and measures 1 3/4" x 2 1/8" x 14 1/2" over a hard butt plate (Bakelite?) with chip at toe, depicting a man and dog with the words: THE KEEPER'S GUN TRADE MARK NEW MODEL. The forend is of the pull-off type, with an ebony insert at the tip. The gun weighs 6 lbs 14 oz and is ready for the field. Great vintage upland double.
