Here is a nice ultra lightweight 12 gauge boxlock non-ejector by W. Horton of Glasgow, Scotland. It was built circa 1900. The nitro-proved barrels are 28” with 2 ½” chambers and shiny bores, choked .004/.018 (about skeet/modified.) There is a swamped rib, and the tubes are marked: W. HORTON. 98 BUCHANAN ST. GLASGOW. The gun locks up tight. The receiver features the maker’s name, surround by good scroll engraving. The pull-off fore-end has a silver finial. There is a small stress crack at the bottom of the fore-end where wood meets metal. The lightly figured stock measures 1 5/8” x 2 ½” x 14 ¼” with slight cast off (for a right hand shot.) The weight is 6 lbs 1 oz. A perfect little upland double.
